Our process

How we make it.

Every song and video from Packet Loss Publishing is made in-house, from the first lyric to the finished video. Here is the process, and what it means for anyone who wants to license the work.

Written by Tim

Every song starts with lyrics and a concept written by Tim. The words, the story and the direction are his.

Produced in-house

The music is produced with AI music tools, guided by Tim’s style direction and refined until it fits the song.

Visuals and video

Cover art and videos are made in-house. Videos are produced with PorchDirector, a tool Tim built from scratch. It pulls footage from DVIDS, the U.S. military’s public media site, cuts it into clips and arranges them to the music, then adds titles and prepares the YouTube tags and descriptions.

Released under four names

Each song is released under one of four artist names: Packet Loss Originals, Kyle Winters, Black Pine Hollow or Marina Nights.

Protected

Original work, with the rights reserved

Rights reserved

All songs and finished videos are original productions of Packet Loss Publishing, and all rights are reserved. Some videos are edited from publicly released military footage, which stays subject to its own source terms. The songs and our edited videos may not be copied, re-uploaded or used without a license.

Safe to license

Because everything is made in-house, there is no third-party music, no other artist’s voice and no outside performer to clear. We never create AI likenesses of real, named people. If you want to license a song, we will go over the rights with you directly.
